OFFICIAL HOME VISIT TO EBONYI STATE BY HON. MADUS MATHIAS, SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE GOVERNOR OF ENUGU STATE ON FEBRUARY 23 2022

February 23rd 2022 will be a remarkable day in my life. My day of political turning point. That will mark one year when God used the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi to give me a solid footing in the political space by appointing me his Special Assistant (SA).

Amazingly, a non-indeginous Youth from Afikpo-North (Amasiri to be precise), Ebonyi State serving at such capacity in another State, for me is a rare privilege which I have never taken, nor will ever take for granted. Since I started serving under Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, I have continued to enjoy peace of mind and peace of work as he continues struggling to keep Enugu State under a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

Thank you Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for making me a pride to Ebonyi people both home and abroad.

I praise God Almighty "Chukwu-Okike" God of Abraham, God of Isaac and God Jacob; God of my Ancestors in whom it pleased that I should be made great in order to serve both Him and humanity with the potentials He has implanted inside me especially with this political position I now hold to His glory.

Enugu, Ebonyi are States and have since existed to continuously enjoy cordial and progressive relationship over the years. Practically, Gov Ugwuanyi and Engr. Dave Umahi cooperates as brothers and serving under Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, I am learning  quite a lot from him.

I was pretty much younger when I left Ebonyi my home State. Those days, people in other States where I lived use to make mockery and jest of us from Ebonyi. Little thing, you will hear "ONYE ABAKALIKI", "Guinea Worm People" so forth and so on and that made our people from Ebonyi to always hide their faces in the public.

Ebonyi used to be so dusty, dirty and with little or no infrastructural development. People going to Ebonyi were often burdened and sad on remembering the dust powder that will without respect mess up their beautiful attires even before arrival.

Today, the narrative have changed tremendously under HE Engr. David Nweze Umahi. Massive size flyovers with lights across all regions in the State, durable road 🛣️ structures, new Government house, Airport project, new university, re-branded township stadium, International Market among many others. The flyovers and other completed ✅💯 projects in Ebonyi State today are now fast becoming tourist hub for South-East and other States alike, making Ebonyians boast of their State.

On this note, I call on my friends, family members, colleagues, from Enugu State and beyond to join me as I make my first official home visit to my State, Ebonyi.

1. To Officially Present my Letter ✉️ of Appointment as SA to Enugu State Governor to my own State Governor as an honour I have brought back home to make both him and our people proud.

2. To Give my State Governor, HE Apostle Engr. (Dr.) Dave Umahi a total solidarity support and Award for his uncommon developmental strides in the State

3. To ask my people to help me thank Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for such rare privilege given to me to serve under his administration as Special Assistant (SA)

THE LESSON I WISH TO TEACH FROM THIS VISIT

1. Nigeria Youths must learn to be useful to any State and Country they finds themselves, either for study, leisure, or business. "Be useful to the place and people where you are, so that the place and the people can make you useful to both to yourself, family and country home'. That's what I did in Enugu State for many years and eventually God has remembered me. Don't bring shame and disgrace to your people, rather, work harder to bring back honour.

2. Our Leaders must do more in engaging and including people from other parts of the nation into their administrations as it will help to foster national unity and highten development.

3. Let our Youths never forget Home 🏠. Let our brothers in diaspora remember home and invest on our mother soil!
